Ces sculptures imprimés en 3D, appelés Blooms créées par John Edmark qui enseigne le design à l'Université Stanford, sont conçus pour paraitre animer quand elles tournent sous une lumière stroboscopique. Chaque éléments de la sculture reprend la même méthode utilisé par mère nature pour les pommes de pin, les tournesols ...Pour cette vidéo, plutôt que d'utiliser un flash stroboscopique, la caméra a été réglé à une vitesse d'obturation très court (1/4000 sec) afin de "geler" la sculpture.

These 3-D printed sculptures, called blooms created by John Edmark, design teacher at Stanford University, are designed to animate when spun under a strobe light. The placement of the appendages is determined by the same method nature uses in pinecones and sunflowers. For this video, rather than using a strobe, the camera was set to a very short shutter speed (1/4000 sec) in order to freeze the spinning sculpture.

Faisant suite au terrible tremblement de terre et au tsunami survenus en 2011 au Japon que l'artiste Manabu Ikeda a commencé son oeuvre intitulé "rebirth" (renaissance). Ce tableau immense (4 m X 3 m) est réalisé minutieusement à la plume et à l'encre. Il représente un arbre qui pousse au milieu des débris provoqués par l'énorme vague destructrice. Et une lecture plus approfondi du tableau rélève mille et un détails dont des individus, des plants, et animaux se débattant pour leur survie. Après un travail de plus de 3 ans et demi, on peut comprendre l'émotion que ressent l'artiste.

Following the terrible earthquake and tsunami in 2011 in Japan, artist Manabu Ikeda began his work entitled "Renaissance". This huge painting (4 m X 3 m) is done with pen and ink. It represents a tree that grows in the middle of the debris caused by the enormous destructive wave. And a deeper reading of the painting reveals a thousand and one details of which individuals, plants and animals struggling for survival. After working more than three and a half years, we can understand the emotion that feels the artist.

Voici un projet d'animation réalisé à partir d'anciennes photos. Elles montrent New York en 1931 et on peut avoir l'impression de revivre les scènes du passé car ces photos se sont transformées "comme par magie" en vidéo.
